StrongStart BC is a free, drop-in early learning program for preschool-aged children accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Revelstoke opened the first StrongStart centre in the province.  For further information about how you can participate please contact Betty Switzer, Early Childhood Educator/StrongStart Facilitator at 250-837-1273.

The Province's Ready, Set, Learn initiative recognizes that families need positive connections with the school system and community agencies that provide relevant resources and information.

In partnership with our community providers who support young children, our Revelstoke schools organize an exciting Ready, Set, Learn program.

Our first series of Ready, Set, Learn will be occurring in November, on the following schedule.

Monday
November 17th, 2008
Columbia Park Elementary School
Tuesday
November 18th, 2008
Mount Begbie Elementary School
Wednesday
November 19th, 2008
Arrow Heights Elementary School
Thursday
November 20th, 2008
Mountain View Elementary School

We strongly encourage families to attend a Ready, Set, Learn event which includes a light supper.

The Child Care Resource and Referral program in Revelstoke, hosted by the Revelstoke Child Care Society, offers quality child care referrals, resources and support to all child care providers and families in our community.  We encourage you to visit their website to find our more about their services and what is available in Revelstoke.091008_14800_10.png

The Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) is an interdisciplinary research network of faculty, researchers and graduate students from British Columbiaís six major universities.  Led by Dr. Clyde Hertzman, HELP facilitates the creation of new knowledge, and helps apply this knowledge by working directly with government and communities.

Human Early Learning Partnership is currently involved in the assessment of children's "developmental readiness".  The Revelstoke Board of Education is fully participating with the early childhood development mapping project and further information is available at this link.
