Enhancing Student Learning
The Ministry of Education requires that Boards of Education annually report on student outcome and put systems in place to continuously improve the educational outcomes for all student and improve equity for Indigenous students, children and youth in care, and students with disabilities or diverse abilities. These plans are submitted to the Ministry of Education for their review. In our district, The Framework for Enhanced Student Learning Report, (previously known as the District Plans for Student Success, Achievement Plan and Achievement Contract) are our Board’s public commitment to improving student success. The reports are based on information gathered at the classroom, school, district and provincial level and reflect the unique characteristics, priorities and needs of our district.

Early Childhood Development Instrument (EDI)
The early development of children is profoundly important. The quality of children’s experiences and environments across every aspect of their lives influences their lifelong health and well-being. The EDI is administered by Kindergarten teachers to their students and provides insights into how the social, emotional, physical health and well-being, communication, language and cognitive development of children in BC is changing over time. Below are the links to District Reports of the EDI.
Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI)
The MDI is a very important step in the understanding of the social, academic, emotional, and physical needs of children between the ages of 6 and 12. The MDI gives children a voice to report on critical components of their development that have been found to be strongly linked to well-being, health, and academic achievement and success through the school years and in later life. The links to the District Reports of the MDI are below.
