2024-2027 New Strategic Plan Planning, Information, and Feedback
Belief Statement & Student Learning Goal
Our Board of Education has established a new Strategic Plan. We have developed belief statements and student learning goal to guide the vision and work of our district. As part of the process, we reviewed district data, engaged student and parent voice, and undertook research to determine a focus area for our student learning goal. We believe that collecting diverse voices from across our community will ensure a more comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape and promote equity and inclusivity in education. Thank you to the Revelstoke school and broader community for feedback and input in this regard.
The Strategic Plan will be the north star for our school district, guiding our priorities and allocation of resources for the next 3 to 5 years. Within the Strategic Plan, we intend to build on our strengths and address areas where improvement is needed. We are committed to creating an educational experience that not only excels in academic achievement but also nurtures the development of well-rounded individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to society.
Please review the information below, and use the included links for information supporting our belief statement and learning goal.

We will create purposeful learning environments that incorporate the Core Competences into every facet of the curriculum.
We will prepare students to enter the next steps of their lives as educated citizens equipped with the resilience, self worth, and pathways for a fulfilling future.
Personalized Learning
Intentional approaches to student agency that encourage independent thought, reflective thinking, curiosity, and ongoing learning.
Learners build on their strengths and identify and grow from their stretches in a way that builds confidence, resilience, perseverance, results, and a joy for learning.
Student-Centered Assessment
Involves forward thinking, innovative lessons and assessments that support and engage learners in real world, relevant, and meaningful learning.
Allows learners to show educators what they know through cycles of reflection to advance learning and drive instruction.
Indigenous Informed Pedagogy
Incorporates land-based, holistic, experiential connections to self, family, community, and a broader sense of purpose.
The learning journey towards Truth and Reconciliation creates space and time for decolonized practices and Indigenous Ways of Knowing to enhance social emotional wellness, a sense of personal and cultural identity, and connections to one another.
Universal Design for Inclusion
Enables learners to feel safe and confident to express their academic, personal, and social needs and interests, and to see themselves reflected in the fabric of the learning community.
Student voice and choice creates a safe, positive, and productive learning environment which fosters ongoing curiosity and exploration.

Learners develop a range of perspectives that deepen their appreciation, understanding, and ability to create connections and positive change.

2021-2024 Strategic Plan Information
The 2021-2024 Strategic Plan was approved by the Revelstoke Board of Education at its November 17th, 2021. The plan connects our district wide budgeting, technology and support planning and meets the criteria set out in the Ministry of Education’s Framework for Enhanced Student Learning.
This plan aligns with the Ministry of Education Enhancing Student Learning Reporting Order and the Provincial Framework for Enhancing student Learning.
Our district strategic planning process is monitored and facilitated through ongoing collaboration within our school learning community. Key to that work are the partnerships that exist and thrive through the work of: the Education Committee (parent, student, staff, trustee), and the Indigenous Education Advisory Committee (community, parent, student, staff, trustee). District Plans for Success reflect the focus for student learning in our school are and built with input and collaboration from the District Parent Advisory Council, School Parent Advisory Councils, and all district staff. Student voice plays an important role in this work and is heard formally though the use of tools including the Middle Years Development Instrument, Youth Development Instrument and Provincial Learning Survey.
