Parents, District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC)

School District #19 (Revelstoke) has in place a bylaw that ensures the opportunity for parents or students to appeal a decision of an employee of the Board which significantly affects the education, health or safety of the student.
 
The board values and respects the role of parents in the education of their children. Parent Advisory Councils are part of the governance model for the district and their role is articulated in Board policy:
 

District Parent Advisory Council

District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) meetings are open to all parents and parents are encouraged to attend.  The meetings are held once a month (except for September, January and April) on the first Wednesday of the month (unless otherwise stated) at 12:00 noon at the school board office, usually in the upstairs meeting room.
