Superintendents Message – December 2025

Dec 19, 2025
Dear Families and Friends,

As we reach the close of another inspiring term, my heart is full of gratitude for the joy, growth, and community spirit that have filled our schools. The magic of the season is alive across our district—thanks to our students, staff, families, and community partners who make learning vibrant and connection strong.

Celebrating our Winter Performances

This month, our elementary schools—CPE, BVE, and AHE—are sharing the warmth of the season through their winter concerts, showcasing the creativity, confidence, and teamwork that bloom in classrooms and music rooms alike. At RSS, our Concert Band has been performing with energy and the community band, bringing audiences together in celebration. These events remind us how the arts uplift, unite, and give every learner a moment to shine.

Leadership Filling the Halls with Festive Spirit

A special shout-out to the RSS Leadership class for filling the halls with festive spirit—organizing fun activities, building connection, and modeling what student leadership looks like when it is joyful, inclusive, and community-focused.

Communicating Student Learning & Student-Led Conferences

Across our district, Communicating Student Learning (CSL) continues to center meaningful, ongoing dialogue about growth. Student-led conferences and three-way conversations—parents/caregivers, students, and staff—create space for reflection, goal setting, and shared next steps. This approach is rooted in BC’s K–12 reporting and assessment guidelines and our SD19 Parent Guides, which emphasize descriptive feedback, student agency, and timely communication between home and school
This collaborative approach has been part of our practice for years and continues to strengthen understanding and support for every child’s learning journey.

PAC’s Custom Elementary School Calendars

We are also grateful to our PACs for their custom-made Elementary School Calendars—monthly windows into the joy of learning. These calendars celebrate classroom moments, highlight school events, and reflect the creativity that families and staff cultivate together.

Community Partnerships: Sharing and Caring

Revelstoke’s schools shine because we are surrounded by partners who share and care—local organizations, volunteers, and advocates who offer time, mentorship, resources, and encouragement. Thank you for the ways you enrich learning, broaden opportunities, and help our students see themselves as contributors to a caring community.
As we head into the holidays, may you find rest, connection, and wonder. From snowy trails to sparkling lights, the picturesque beauty of Revelstoke is a perfect backdrop for joyful time with loved ones. Wishing every family a peaceful, restorative, and joy-filled winter break.

Warmest wishes,

Roberta Kubik
