Family Welcome – September 2026
Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,
Welcome to a new school year in Revelstoke School District 19!
I would like to welcome back all our returning families and students to our schools, and welcome those that are new to our community as well! I hope that you all had the opportunity to enjoy some rest, relaxation and adventure over the summer.
The start of a new school year can bring excitement, joy, anxiety, relief and so many other emotions – sometimes all at the same time! All of these have been roiling around in my house as I prepare to begin the year in a new role, as well as help my own children prepare to enter a new school district.
As I start this year, I have been impressed with the strong message of who we are that resonates within the school district. We are a community that cares deeply about children and believes in the power of education to open doors, build connections, and help every learner discover their strengths. We are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments that honour diversity, promote well-being, and advance Truth and Reconciliation.
Over the past several weeks, our staff have been preparing for the return of students. Teachers, support staff, administrators, and operations teams have worked diligently to ensure our schools are welcoming, safe, and ready for another year of meaningful learning. Their commitment to students is extraordinary, and I am grateful for the care and dedication they bring to their work every day.
This year, our focus remains clear: ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging, experiences success in their learning, and is supported to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. We know that students learn best when they feel connected to their school community and when they are surrounded by adults who believe in their potential.
We also recognize that strong partnerships between schools and families are essential to student success. Thank you for the trust you place in us and for the many ways you support your children’s learning. Whether through conversations at the dinner table, volunteering at school events, attending performances, or simply encouraging a love of learning, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.
The beginning of a school year brings with it a sense of possibility. New friendships will be formed, challenges will be overcome, and countless moments of growth will occur in classrooms, on stages, in gyms, on playgrounds, and throughout our community. Every student’s journey will be unique, and we are honoured to be part of it.
On behalf of the Board of Education for School District 19, I wish each of our students and families a joyful, successful, and rewarding school year. We look forward to learning, growing, and celebrating alongside you in the months ahead.
Proud Superintendent,
A. Glenn Goslin
